While searching for the airline email offer sign-up pages for Sunday’s post, I stumbled across two corporate travel ploys that I am kind of digging.
First, Southwest has two travel programs: groups and gays. Now, I know they’re rocking the rainbow because gay travelers have a lot of disposable income and are more likely to have passports than the rest of the U.S. population. In other words, they are a cash-strapped airline’s wet dream. But that doesn’t mean I can’t support them “coming out” for gays, so way to go, Southwest!
Second, Midwest Airlines has a little travel blog, Travels with Tish, which illustrates how small groups can save on travel to their destinations by booking group getaways. While this is primarily a marketing ploy, Tish does give some valuable info about how to save money on group accommodations in NYC, for example, that could be quite useful to friends or families traveling together in the Big Apple.
